MATEF: A new fair from TÜYAP that will serve as the opening gate of the machinery sector to exports
MATEF Manufacturing Technologies, Metal-Sheet Metal Processing Machines, Laser- Automation - Robotic Systems, Welding and Surface Treatment Technologies, Machine Equipment and Factory Equipment Fair will be held in collaboration with the Turkish Machine Manufacturers Association (MİB) at Tüyap Fair and Congress Center on June 20-23, 2023. The fair will be held for the first time this year and aims at bringing together domestic manufacturers and foreign visitors to provide new export opportunities to the exhibitors.MATEF Manufacturing Technologies, Metal-Sheet Metal Processing Machines, Laser- Automation - Robotic Systems, Welding and Surface Treatment Technologies, Machine Equipment and Factory Equipment Fair organized by Tüyap this year for the first time, will be held at halls no. 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 of Istanbul Büyükçekmece Tüyap Fair and Congress Center on June 20-23, 2023 with the participation of several domestic companies of the machinery sector. The fair held in collaboration with the Turkish Machine Manufacturers Association (MİB) will focus on several machine-related topics as metal-sheet processing, tube processing, plasma cutting, profile bending, metal processing as well as press machines, machine equipment and sub-industry materials, sawing machines, compressors, lathe machine and turret lathes, technical hardware and hand tools, conveyors, technologies and software used for different processes of manufacture, hardware and systems.

Machinery sector leading in Türkiye in respect of its contribution to exports, employment and added value it created is preparing to gain more strength with the help of MATEF. MATEF where state-of-the-art technology products and services will be exhibited will host the leading firms of the sector.
An international procurement committee supported by Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Trade and an intensive number of foreign visitors from various countries primarily Russia, the Balkans, Iran, and Georgia with the intermediation of Tüyap international offices, are expected to exhibit in the fair.
Besides, several countries primarily Germany, Russia, China, Japan, Italy, India, Morocco, Egypt, Algeria, Bulgaria, Iran, Czech Republic, Poland, Serbia, and Bosnia-Herzegovina have already completed their early registration to visit the fair.
With this aspect, MATEF will add a value to the sector with the new export opportunities created by several exhibitor companies that lead the machinery sector and the international visitors expected to arrive from several countries.
A crucial fair for the export targets of the machinery sector
According to the data of the Machinery Exporters Association (MAİB), Turkish machinery sector grew by 9.6 per cent last year and reached an exports level of 25.3 billion dollars breaking an all-time record, and is thus considered a crucial sector for the Turkish economy. The shining star of the Turkish economy and exports, machinery sector continues to further grow in 2023 and become one of the major exports items of Türkiye. Bringing domestic manufacturers with international visitors, MATEF is expected to provide a major input to this decisive growth.
